About MacFileFlow
Born from frustration. Built on principle. Refined by thousands of users.
Our Mission
We believe that file organization should be straightforward, not a constant struggle. Our mission is to equip Mac users with battle-tested systems, clear guidance, and practical tools to master their digital workspace—so they can focus on their actual work.
How We Started
MacFileFlow began with one person's chaos.
The Crisis
After seven years of client work, the founder had accumulated 60,000+ files scattered across three Macs, two external drives, and Dropbox. Finding a specific file took 20 minutes. Version confusion cost real time and money. Something had to change.
The System
Through research and trial, a simple three-level folder structure emerged. Combined with smart naming and Finder automation, it worked. One migration weekend. 30 years of accumulated files organized in hours. The difference was immediate—and addictive.
The Teaching
Friends asked for the system. Teams requested custom versions. A free guide became a small course. Feedback poured in: not just individuals, but designers, consultants, and teams craving the same clarity and confidence.
The Platform
MacFileFlow formally launched with professional templates, automation scripts, and ongoing support. Today, thousands of users from startups to enterprises rely on the system daily.
What We Stand For
Five principles guide every decision we make.
Simplicity First
Complexity is the enemy of adoption and maintenance. Our system uses three folder levels maximum and human-readable rules. If it takes an MBA to understand, we redesign it.
Respect Your Time
Every minute spent organizing is a minute not spent on creative work. We obsess over saving you time—through smart defaults, templates, and automation that actually works.
No Vendor Lock-In
Your files live on your Mac in standard folders. Our system works with iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, or local storage. Never trapped by proprietary tooling.
Scalability Built In
Whether you have 1,000 files or 100,000, whether you're solo or managing a team, the system grows with you. Same principles, different scale.
Community Matters
We listen to feedback and iterate together. Every major update reflects what users told us they needed. You're not paying for a product—you're joining a community improving file organization together.
How We Work
Our philosophy on teaching, support, and continuous improvement.
Learn by Example
We believe in teaching through templates and real case studies, not abstract theory. See how others organized their design files, and adapt it to your workflow.
Iterative Refinement
After setup, you'll review and refine quarterly. We provide checklists and prompts so you stay ahead of entropy without constant fussing.
Practical Support
Email support is real people, not bots. We walk you through setup, troubleshoot sync conflicts, and help customize scripts for edge cases in your workflow.
Transparency First
You see exactly what's included at each tier. No hidden limitations or surprise paywalls. Pricing is clear. Refund policy is clear. No tricks.

From one person's frustration to a thriving community.

What We Can Do
Deep expertise across the macOS file system and document workflows.
Folder Architecture Design
We've designed and tested structures for creative agencies, consulting firms, law offices, nonprofits, and solo practitioners. We know edge cases. We know what scales.
Automation & Scripting
AppleScript, shell scripts, Hazel rules. We write it, test it, document it, and hand it to you ready to go. Batch renaming, folder creation, auto-sorting on import.
Cloud Sync Strategy
Conflict resolution, versioning, team collaboration rules. We've worked through iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Sync.com. Different tools, same principles.
Migration Planning
Taking an 8-year-old mess and turning it into a system without losing anything, breaking connections, or disrupting work. It's an art and a science.
Team Onboarding
From documentation to role-based templates to live training. We make sure every team member understands and adopts the system, not just knows about it.
Ongoing Refinement
As your team grows or tools change, your system evolves. We guide quarterly reviews, help archive old projects, and adjust structure without disruption.
